The residents are a homogenous mix of families, pre-retirees and fully retired who sought the peace-of-mind provided by the manned gate house which is staffed 24/7 and offers peace of mind for the owners and their property.
The community boasts over 1,400 acres. It's a large, rambling property with many lots that are almost 1/2 acre in size. Almost all of the property sites offer something special - a golf course view, a lake view, or a preserve view. There are more than 50 lakes which attract a varied collection of birds and wildlife. Residents like to walk the perimeter (5 miles) or the ‘inner circle’ which is about 2 miles while others prefer to bicycle or roller-blade.

Our community, situated in Parrish along the banks of the Manatee River, has quick access to I-75 and 275 which link to points North (Tampa/St. Pete) or South (Sarasota). River Wilderness was developed in the early 1990's and has been evolving ever since. Currently, there are 700 homes and an additional 150+ are scheduled to be built in the new riverfront enclave, Rive Isle.
